Highlighting has become the trend of the century, and with new innovations and products, we can tell it isn't going away any time soon. Here at BeautyXtd we've got all the tips and tricks to giving yourself the perfect fresh glow with a highlight to blind without looking like a lightbulb.
Where to Highlight
Firstly, you want to add highlight to the right sections of your face, to highlight and heighten your best features. You want to place the highlight on the top of your cheekbones, the bridge and tip of your nose, right below your eyebrows and a light brush on your cupid bow. You can also choose to highlight your forehead and chin for an added glow but take caution - this is usually when it goes overboard.
Prep Your Base
Before you begin, add a light base under your eyes, in the middle of your forehead and the places you want to highlight. This will accentuate the colour underneath your chosen highlight.
Pro tip: use a dewy primer or a crème highlighter underneath the area where you are about to apply your powder highlight for an added effect. Which Highlighter? You can choose a variety of different undertones for your highlighter for your desired effect. Highlighter can come in a rose colour for added blush, pearl and white colours for lighter skin and gold and copper colours for darker skin tones. Testing on your skin is the perfect way to choose what would suit your own skin type.
Add a light coat of your highlight - less is more. Plus you can always add more later if you feel like you need an extra glow. Once you've done so, take your blush and blend into the skin to give a dewy effect rather than looking like you've done a swatch on your cheek.
